DVD cases with choice movie titles/artwork
utility knife/X-acto Blade

Some of your DVD covers are like little miniature works
of art / movie posters. With a couple easy revisions, you
can use them as interesting switchplate/outlet covers.

the process:
First, slice plastic sleeve open on the backside
about an inch away from the spine (you’ll want to
tuck this under edge
after replacing artwork, so you just want to
leave yourself enough material to work with) Remove
artwork.
Cut away the backside with a utility knife, being
careful to keep the spine in tact with the front.
Use your standard switchplate/outlet cover as your
template on the DVD case and trace/mark where to cut out opening.
Remember to mark screw holes.

**NOTE** Can also place openings offcenter, so they
come into
play with the artwork on the cover……Simply put artwork back on
to determine placement. i.e.. outlet replacing face…leaving words
in tact, etc.)
Cut out outlet or switch opening(s) with utility knife.
Can also use a hot tool like a fine tipped soldering iron or
stencil cutter to make your cuts.
Drill screw holes using 1/8” drill bit.
Secure artwork back on to case using paper cement
(dry mount method) for best adhesion. Wrap plastic cover
back around and use adhesive to secure to backside. Trim
away any excess.
Use X-acto blade to trim out artwork to
reveal switch or outlet opening.
Hang proudly. Great addition to media rooms and kids rooms.
